Book Blog Hop

Book Blogger Hop

1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die: Revised and Updated Edition (1001 (Universe))Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. If you are a return visitor, then thank you for coming back and if you are new, thank you for stopping by!

The Poisonwood Bible: A Novel (P.S.) If you didn't know I am slowly making making my way through the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I just started a few months ago and have read 26, only 975 to go. I just started reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

This week's blog hop question is:

Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what are your favorite tunes?

I am  a huge music fan. I love to listen to music while I do just about everything EXCEPT read. I love to sing along and so if I listen to anything with words, I end up singing along and then I'm distracted. Sometimes I'll put on some soothing classical music. Mostly, I prefer a nice quiet corner, some snacks and a comfy chair.

Again, thanks for stopping by, be sure to leave me a link in the comments so I can return the hop.

Hey, I'm book blog hopping and a new follower. I love your concept for the blog. Finally able to go back to school, I am sort of doing that as my own personal quest as well. I've made it a goal to read one modern book, then one classic, etc.. Look forward to your blog posts!

I'm hopping too, and truly applaud you for your desire to read from the "1001" list! I scrolled down through the list you've posted, and you've read some wonderful novels already.

Personally, I loved A.S. Byatt's recent novel, "The Children's Book." Her novel "Possession" is simply sublime, and is in my top-ten all-time faves!

I also noticed that you have read Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the d'Urbervilles." It is another one of my favorites; and just the other day I posted one of Hardy's poems, "Tess's Lament," that speaks directly to his novel. You might like to print it and keep it with your copy of the novel.

Have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy moving through your list! I'll be back to see how you're coming along. Cheers! Chris

Ugh no. The only music I can stand while reading is low-key classic music on low volume.

Found your blog through the hop and now a new follower. I also read "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" by Thomas Hardy and absolutely loved it.

I thought about picking up "Poisonwood Bible" but not sure. Let me know what you think!

Hi Rachel
I gotta check out that list and see how many I've read. If it's not too bad, maybe I'll give it a go...

Yes another lover of quiet when reading!
I am very impressed by your reading goals, hope you enjoy every one of the 1001 books. Thanks for stopping by on the hop to my blog yesterday when I was out of town Rachel, I am hopping by to return the favor. I am a new Twitter follower so was aware of your blog but lately have not made it over to very many as time constraints not allowing much internet these last few months!!

Happy hopping and happy reading!

I'm stopping by courtesy of the Hop, and you are my new hero. I thought a goal of 100 was lofty, but wow....looks like you've got some great books upcoming! I'm a follower just so I can see what books are on your list!

Stop by sometime, I bet we have a lot of books in common.

Great blog! I truly love how it’s easy on my eyes and the details are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which ought to do the trick! Have a nice day!
