Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Settings

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. This week it's all about our favorite settings. I decided to list all those bookish places I'd love to go check out.

The Secret Garden- I'm not a big gardener but I love the idea of having a beautiful place to go and get away from everything and everyone except for those you choose to have join you.

Neverland- Ok, I'm just going to say adulthood has not lived up to the expectation I had of it as a child. So, a place where you stay a child forever? Sounds awesome! Sign me up!
Italy-Ok, I'm cheating here. This isn't in reference to any one book's setting. I just have always wanted to go to Italy. The scenery, the history, the FOOD! I'm all for it

Japan from Memoirs of a Geisha- Japan is another place I'd love to see and when I read this book I couldn't help but imagine how beautiful it all was. These women made being hot into an artform and I'd love to just go sit at one of their parties and soak up all the beautiful- ness.

Jane Austen's England- It just sounds like a fun time. Dress up in pretty dresses, go to dances and meet cute boys. Sounds good to me.

Court of Henry VIII from The Other Boleyn Girl- I love Tudor England and the history of all that (not that you can call The Other Boleyn Girl history but nevermind that). However, I only want to go if I can be a fly on the wall. So much drama! It would be like a live action extreme Jerry Springer show but with prettier outfits.

Bon Temps from the Sookie Stackhouse books- this is another one where I want to go and see all the craziness but I don't want to be involved. Plus any place that has Eric Northman and Jason Stackhouse running around is OK with me.I can just hang out in Merlotte's and watch everything go down.

Wonderland from Alice in Wonderland- Do I have to explain? This place just sounds all kinds of strange and awesome!
Prince Edward Island from Anne of Green Gables- I want to go back in time and grow up here. I could be Anne's bosom friend and we'd have a wonderfully idyllic childhood.

Hogwarts from Harry Potter-Another one I shouldn't have to explain. It's Hogwarts! It's magical and fantastic and HOGWARTS!

So, where would you all head off to?

Give adulthood a little time. It will never be as good as childhood until you turn...oh, say 50!

Here's my list of Top Ten Settings in Books. I hope you will stop by and visit!

I have Hogwars and Prince Edward Island on my list too. Neverland was a good choice, I didn't think of it.

Great picks. I also chose Hogwarts and Prince Edward Island.

PEI from Anne of Green Gables instantly crossed my mind. The house is lovely but it's the entire maritime province that takes your breath away.

The Secret Garden does sound like a lovely place to spend some time. I also really enjoyed the scenery in Memoirs of a Geisha.
Great list!

I'm totally with you on Neverland! I feel like adulthood should have a disclaimer, lol

I would totally join you for Neverland, Bon Temps and Wonderland. Funny that I'd pick the ones that have fairies in them. ;)

hee hee, I picked Tudor England too. Certainly can't beat it for drama. The Secret Garden is one of my favourite books from when I was a kid. Would be amazing to visit there.
