Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event hosted by Reading Between the Pages that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
- A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
- Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
- Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
- It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
BEAUTY RELATED
(like hair, makeup, lipstick etc)
I was a bit excited since this week's theme was chosen by yours truly. Then I started looking for my snippet this week and it no longer sounded like a good idea. I am only a few pages into the book and didn't want to ruin anything by looking forward but I finally found something that would work. Go figure, I pick the theme and have the hardest dang time with it.
This week mine comes from One Day by David Nicholls.
"No lipstick but soft, raspberry -coloured lips that she kept tightly closed when she smiled as if she didn't want to show her teeth, which were a little large for her mouth, the front tooth slightly chipped, all of this giving the impression that she was holding something back, laughter or a clever remark or a fantastic secret joke."

You did a really great job with this week's theme! So descriptive, I can picture her face with this description. Here's mine:

You wound up with a good one though! I had a hard time with your theme too. My book is full of science fictional techno-babble. Very little beauty kind of anything going on. But I did manage to come up with something:

It may have been difficult but it sure was worth it. So sweet!

I had a tough one with this weeks theme but I guess that is what makes the whole meme interesting. Thanks for such an excellent suggestion.. oh, and you did pick a pretty apt snippet for the theme .
